Diddy Trial Verdict: Acquitted on Major Charges, Faces Prison Time

By - Mahi

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been found guilty on two counts in his federal trial, but acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering.

On July 2, jurors announced they had reached a final verdict on all five charges, bringing the high-profile trial to a dramatic close.

Combs avoided the most serious charges, which could have led to a life sentence. But he still faces up to 20 years in prison.

The two convictions were for transporting individuals for prostitution. These carry serious penalties if sentenced consecutively.

The trial lasted over a month, with nearly 30 days of testimony. Prosecutors called over 30 witnesses, including two of Combs’ exes.

Singer Cassie Ventura and another woman testified in detail about disturbing encounters with Combs, including events called "Freak Offs."

Combs' defense team called no witnesses, instead using aggressive cross-examinations to try and dismantle the prosecution’s case.

Though acquitted of sex trafficking, Combs still faces multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual abuse — all of which he strongly denies.
