Diego Luna fired the U.S. into the Gold Cup final with two goals in just 15 minutes against Guatemala in a thrilling 2-1 victory.

Luna opened the scoring in the 4th minute, converting a rebound with his left foot after a spilled shot from Luca de la Torre.

Just 11 minutes later, Luna netted again—this time with his right foot after a slick dribble and stepover past a Guatemalan defender.

Guatemala’s Olger Escobar pulled one back in the 80th minute, sliding a low shot past Matt Freese to make it 2-1.

Former U.S. striker Rubio Rubin thought he scored for Guatemala in the 29th minute, but the goal was ruled offside.

U.S. keeper Matt Freese came up big with key saves, including a crucial stop in stoppage time to preserve the 2-1 lead.

The U.S. will face either Mexico or Honduras in the Gold Cup final this Sunday in Houston—its 13th final appearance!

The U.S. has won 7 Gold Cups, all final losses have come against Mexico. Can Luna lead them to title number 8?
