Lululemon Sues Costco Over Alleged Copycat Clothing Designs
By - Mahi
Lululemon has filed a lawsuit against Costco in California, accusing the retail giant of copying its well-known activewear styles.
The lawsuit claims Costco’s Kirkland-brand jackets, hoodies, and pants are nearly identical to Lululemon’s original designs.
Lululemon says these lookalike products could mislead shoppers into thinking they’re buying the real deal.
The focus is on popular items like the Scuba hoodie, Define jacket, and ABC pants—some of Lululemon’s top-selling pieces.
News outlets like The New York Times have referred to Costco’s versions as “dupes” of Lululemon’s most famous designs.
The brand argues these copycat styles are confusing customers and violating Lululemon’s design and trademark rights.
Lululemon is demanding damages and a court order to stop Costco from selling the alleged knockoff clothing.
The legal case is now underway in California. So far, Costco hasn’t issued a public response to the lawsuit.
